Casual shirts

It has a deep neckline, slits on both sides and half-length sleeves. The style has no references to classic women's or men's clothing, but embraces gender-neutral style. All our casual shirts are equipped with repair patches and extra buttons.

Inspiration

Our casual shirt is inspired by the Indonesian island of Bali. It is a popular holiday island where surf culture has definitely left its mark on the atmosphere. Our Bali shirt is most of all a huge tribute to a good holiday. Time for peace, contemplation and luxury. Time for movement, laughter and partying. Our casual shirts are ready to take you on holiday.

Material

Used duvet cover. Since we at Pleasant do not want to buy new textiles, all our Bali shirts are upcycled*.

What is upcycling?

Upcycling means taking an existing textile product and turning it into a new one of higher value. Our Bali shirts are made from used duvet covers that have already been through one or more life cycles. The material requires no post-processing and can be made directly into shirts. It emits at least 4 times less CO2 and saves large amounts of water and chemicals.

But most importantly, with minimal need for new textiles*, we can propose that textile agriculture be converted to more appropriate crops and wild nature.

* Our sewing thread is still made from new textile.
